Figline Valdarno was a comune (municipality) in the Province of Florence in the Italian region of Tuscany, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Florence. As of 31 December 2013, it had a population of 17,136 and an area of 71.7 square kilometres (27.7 sq mi).[1] The municipality is the birthplace of Marsilio Ficino. Since January 1st, 2014 the comune has been united with Incisa in Val d'Arno in one new municipality called Figline e Incisa Valdarno. Figline Valdarno borders the following municipalities: Castelfranco di Sopra, Cavriglia, Greve in Chianti, Incisa in Val d'Arno, Pian di Scò, Reggello, San Giovanni Valdarno.
